We have another birthday in June—Papa aka Dan. It is a special celebration this year with all grandchildren here to help. The late afternoon sun reflected on the glass table along with the ability to see through it, makes for an interesting picture.

Drying Apricots Hour 24 Day 2
I did say they were small. I guess that is why it only took half the time suggested. Even then, they are a bit crispy.
They are still good as far as I am concerned. And, good for anyone who is ready to do a little chewing. Our friend says he will have some plums for us. Prunes, anyone??

Drying Apricots Hour 1 Day 1
We picked these Sunday afternoon from a friend’s tree. After searching through several recipe books and not finding much more to do with them than making jam, we decided to dry them. All I did was wash, half (with skins on), pit and dip in lemon juice. They are small—very small. There are three trays all as full as this one. Any guesses how much we’ll have left on Hour 48 Day 2?
