Backroad frog

This little guy suddenly appeared on the outside of the windshield while I was on the route. I stopped as quickly as possible. I barely got the picture before he disappeared not to be seen the rest of the day.

Too Hot to Handle

I typed this title intending to write several witty, yet enlightening paragraphs about the heat on the mail route the past two days. There is no news about being hot.

Too Hot to Handle is the name of a movie staring Clark Gable and Myrna Loy. Clark Gable is a newsreel photographer who needs an interesting story, so he makes one up. Walter Pidgeon plays a competing photojournalist. They both are unscrupulous. Myrna Loy is the beautiful aviatrix who catches both the journalists fancy. A classic comedy combination.

Charles Pope reviewed the movie in 2000 giving it four out of five stars. He said, “After 62 years, this comedy still has legs.” Was he talking about Loy or the ethics of news reporting.

I think I will check if the library has this movie available. A hot date in front of the television on a hot night to watch the movie Too Hot to Handle starring the hot Clark Gable is a cool idea.

Hot week ahead

I was checking the forecast for the week earlier today. It appears we have a hot one. It's summer and we should expect some 100 plus degree days. Dan is baling prairie hay and is hoping the forecast is right. He might even order a hot wind on top of the high temperatures. I'll put up with hot temperatures if we can "wrap" up the hay program.

We picked up the pictures at the fair. Marc received a third place in the "other" category and I received a second in "landscape". We felt good about the winnings.

I have a couple of ideas in mind for blog posts this week. Seems like it has been ages since I've really sunk my teeth into something--besides food. I've got to go on a diet--but that's another story.
