A Little Help From A Friend

I have been watching this pumpkin each day when I stop with the mail. Dale was out the other day so I asked if I could take a picture. He said sure!

He has since provided upsidedown buckets and boards for several other pumpkins. Tonight we are scheduled for a frost here so I thought I better take my picture today. It has been cloudy and rainy all day, but the sun came out just for a bit when I stopped.

Fall is starting to show its potential.

I don't know why I find it so hard to watch debates. After about 30 minutes, I had to just listen and not watch. I tend to let all their physical characteristics and gestures get in the way of what they are saying. And, when I listen, I hear Bush sounding sincere and believable and Kerry, a politician spewing out democratic rhetoric----period.

Now I hear NBC is going to hash over the debate by "some of their best and brightest." Well, I am turning off the television and going to bed. I know how I am going vote.

I love waterfalls. It has become an inside joke with us. When we travel, I am always looking for waterfalls. Last summer while traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway we came to a sudden stop. Dan had seen a small trickle coming out of a rock and was sure I would want a picture.

The sight, sound, and feel of a waterfall is spiritual. It seems everything stands still while the water has total power and motion. Colorado has many of these beautiful works of nature. Thanks Drue for finding this one.

Beautiful Weekend

We are home! We were welcomed by Skye & Belle at 2:00 am Monday morning. It was a beautiful weekend in the Springs.

We arrived at 6:30 on Friday evening after visiting Mom at WindSong and Kim, Aaron & Adam at Burger King in Abilene. Saturday morning Doug & Dan started immediately on the deck project while Drue & I took Trent & Sage to Fox Run. If you look closely at the picture of Trent & Sage, Pikes Peak is in the background. It is a beautiful little park.

Sunday morning once again Doug & Dan worked on the deck while Drue, Trent, Sage & I traveled to Glen Eyrie and hiked to Dorothy's Falls. It had all the elements of a perfect hike. We crossed the stream at least six times. There were beautiful yellow Aspens as well as late wildflowers. Trent was a real trooper. Tomorrow I will publish a picture of the hike.
