The real reason I like the hard drive is I am always looking for a particular picture & unfortunately I haven't labeled pictures to make them searchable by content, just date. I appreciate your input, though, & am thinking the DVDs are the way to back up my back up:)Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03432986283071362131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192152.post-73764710334296549952013-01-29T17:33:29.661-06:002013-01-29T17:33:29.661-06:00I have been burning all my photos on DVD's for...I have been burning all my photos on DVD's for 10 years now. It's so easy and you can play them on a lot of other devices. Came in handy to entertain my father who had bad eyesight and alzheimers. I had scanned in all the old family photos from his great grandparents to the present and played them on his big screen TV. So glad I did that. My photos are saved in different programs like Kodak Easy share, HP Images and Adobe Photoshop so when my old computer crashed I lost "my pictures" but still had them in those programs. Never have had a need for an external hard drive.Bonnie from Iowahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05238040645267170195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192152.post-59302233467819327892013-01-29T09:36:51.295-06:002013-01-29T09:36:51.295-06:00Hi Linda in Erie! I always enjoyed your writing.

Also, I am wondering what you use to Geocache--GPS or phone. We, mostly I, enjoy finding these sites but there isn't always cell coverage. The GPS units I like are pricey but might be willing to make the investment if worth it. Do you still geocache while traveling?

Sorry to hear about your storage hard drive. Guess that confirms I need to figure something out. I do have a lot of my favorite pictures stored at Smug Mug. Maybe I need to be more conscientious about uploading a few at a time. In the end, storing in the cloud is probably the safest.

Thanks for checking in!
Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03432986283071362131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192152.post-81759992336267991132013-01-29T01:45:27.685-06:002013-01-29T01:45:27.685-06:00My external hard drive just failed. But within a day my ext hard drive failed. I reformatted my computer and I just got Carbonite but it is taking forever to upload my stuff that I saved from my computer before I reformatted. It will take weeks at this rate. I'm taking my ext hard drive in to see if I can get two years of my life in photos back..plus important documents. Live and learn! Also, I had to get the package that backs up video which some won't. Linda in Erie, PAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
