2nd place green beans

I received a red ribbon for my canned green beans at the Douglas County Fair!  I’m feeling pretty good about that.  Those with a 4-H background might think a red ribbon isn’t too good.  However, in open class there are only three ribbons given for each class—thus the 2nd place.

I know I don’t have to say this, but I feel there should be complete honesty in this blog.  So, I will say there were only three entries in my green bean category—a guaranteed placing.  I have something to strive for next year.  A blue ribbon and special placement of all the top entries.

I have four photos entered as well.  The building in which the photo exhibits are displayed is not open to the public until tomorrow.

Tomatoes and Bacon

Despite the heat, our tomatoes are producing.   They must not mind this warm, dry weather as long as they get a drink once in a while.  I have enough that tomorrow is can tomatoes day.

I’m not sure but I think I lifted this picture off Facebook where someone else had posted it from Pinterest.  Frankly, I’m not sure about the rights to these pictures that are posted publically.  I certainly would give credit, but don’t know who to give it to.

So, having said all that, here is the picture.  It speaks for itself.  I think it’s worth a try.
