Drying pond

There is a second pond in our pasture.  We have often thought there might be a spring  because even though the pond is small, it never completely dries up—until this year.  If we don’t get significant rain fairly soon, I think we will see the bottom.

This mud hole is loaded with tiny sunfish.  I am sure they haven’t grown because there are so many and no big fish to thin them out.  So, we decided to set the fish trap to catch a few to put over into the bigger pond.  At least they will have a chance although they might become food for the bigger fish there.
