Yes, but is it worth the price tag?

It was late afternoon when I returned home from an afternoon with the grandkids.  I immediately noticed a strange car in the yard.

Vacuum cleaner salesmen—three of them.

It happens they caught Dan in a weak moment and he let them in the house.  And, I am so thankful he did.  Here is why.

Recently I complained that my vacuum does not clean the carpet in our office well.  It was this room they decided to demonstrate their machine.

They must have been here a while by the time I arrived, as they had completed the carpet cleaning.  Not just vacuum, but shampoo the carpet.  It looked great, very impressive.  Also, there were gross papers laying around demonstrating how much dirt that my vacuum had not picked up from that carpet.  Also, very impressive.

After all that, it is hard to say, “Thanks, but no thanks.”

Wait….we are told we don’t have to pay full price.  They would negotiate.  They would barter.  They would deal.

I am sure it is a very good product.  The salesmen did have proof I was missing dirt.  I am very pleased to get the carpet in the office cleaned and it does look nice.

But, we agree that we do not need to spend that much money on a vacuum cleaner. Even though I have to hand it to them for an impressive demonstration, we’ll just live with a little missed dirt.  For us, it is just not worth the cost.

Since I post Aaron skiing last night, I decided I would post Trent, Adam and Carly.  Even though Evan just had a birthday, here he is too.  I wanted to put together a slide show, but it will have to wait.  The weather is a little cooler and we’re catching up outside.

Aaron on the wake board

Ten-year-old Aaron got up on the wake board his first try.  He did better each time.
