What I am doing instead of taxes:

1.  Figuring out what I could buy on L.L.Bean web site with $30 worth of coupons

2.  Cleaning and organizing the kitchen, my desk and pictures

3.  Looking at possible Trekker trips—here is the most promising

4.  Making birthday cards

5.  Organizing the rat tail of cords under my computer…

Number 5 is the last straw. This is procrastination at a new level.  Now it’s time to get to it.  My appointment is Monday at 5:00 pm.

Will she be able to stay focused??

A little too close to home

A neighbor met me at his mailbox today asking whether I heard about the incident last night.

A young lady in Topeka was  kidnapped, driven to a  location and beat. She flagged down a passing car for help.  The injuries were minor but the crime of kidnapping is major.  Here is the story, just out.  It’s a tragedy that young people have to resort to violence to settle arguments.

This all happened in the Kansas Wildlife and Parks area nearby.   This acreage is set aside for habitat and is fairly remote.  It’s not the first time people have come into the area for no good reasons. I hope it doesn’t mean gates in the future.

Blog etiquette

Years back when I first started blogging, I searched out articles on good blogging.  I found a helpful site and have followed this persons suggestions for years.

It should be noted here that when I went to find his blog to link, it has been discontinued.  Hmmm, that might not speak well to his advice.

One suggestion was not to feel it necessary to blog each day.  If you don’t have something to say, wait.

So, tonight, I am going to bed—I am sure something of substance will happen tomorrow.  Thanks for checking in.

Spring Storm and family

Ice Storm 065-1

More pictures are posted here.

What a great weekend.  Lots of visiting, eating and playing.

We celebrated Drue’s birthday and worried about Carly’s trip to the urgent care office for stitches.  All is well on both counts.

A new week starts again—do they go by fast or is it just me?
