TGIF

Thank you for your patience on lack of posts. What with visiting Mom, garden dirt under my fingernails and mail delivery, there are not enough hours in the day. Weekend ahead!!

Asparagus, wish we could Shareamuss

We have asparagus. Lots of it. I thought I would share my asparagus serving suggestions. They are simple—no recipe needed.

1. Stir fry and serve with noodles

2. Fry potatoes slowly in olive oil and throw asparagus in at
the last minute

3. Cream sauce & asparagus over bread

4. Cream sauce & asparagus over spaghetti noodles

5. Steam and place on pizza

6. Grill with coating of olive oil and sprinkle with lemon salt

7. Marinate with Italian dressing and eat raw

8. Cut up raw and serve with lettuce salad

9. Finally, steam lightly and serve with lemon salt

For the most part, these are main dishes. The last suggestion would probably be served with steak, etc. Asparagus is a rich vegetable so we call it a meal.

If we get a rain, we will have a bunch more.

Back to normal--whatever that is

The presentation at our annual family reunion went well. Given the fact the meeting started at ll:00 this morning, I was in direct competition with hunger and sleepiness in the audience. The power point helped. My computer setup did not fail me, as it seems so often when trying to impress with electronic gadgetry. Thanks to my son-in-law, Marc, on that.

We drove to Junction City last night. It is only 90 miles away but we felt it was best to be right there this morning to get the room set up. The attendance was down this year to 95. We speculated gas might be a factor.

The Trekker is unloaded and cleaned. My kitchen table is still full of supplies. I ran out of steam. Reorganization and storage will have to wait until tomorrow night.

Meanwhile I am propping my eyes open with toothpicks so off to bed for now.
