For sale

I didn't know I had so much stuff. Our Salina family is hosting a garage sale Saturday morning and they have invited our junk.

I took the day off work to dig through shelves, boxes, etc. The pile for loading into the van for the trip is getting impressive. I need to start making a list to help me remember the little things here and there.

Tonight was the Mother Daughter tea at Chapman Valley Manor. I think Mom enjoyed herself. My cousin from Colorado is here and was able to come also.

I am tired and it's a work day for me tomorrow. More about the garage sale and pictures later.

The water is back in the river channel but there are still signs it was a recent visitor.

Reunion and Rivers

We have two reunions each year on my dad's side, one in the spring (Gfeller) and one in the fall (Altwegg). Both families migrated from Switzerland in the late 1860s and have been diligent in writing family history. It is interesting because it is also the history of the area. I will share down the line.

After the reunion, we decided to make a quick trip to Salina to see our family there. We finally made it to their house. The road we usually take was closed because the Smoky was out of its banks.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Kim called to say they were in the midst of another storm after we left. We went by several homes battling flood waters from the six plus inches of rain earlier in the day.

As for us here, between Topeka and Lawrence, we have received a little over three in the past 24 hours.
