Easter in Colorado

Easter preparations are underway here on the front range. Yesterday was the task of coloring the eggs. Big brother was in charge, but little sis was definitely in the mix.

Today we are decorating cookies. Yum We will head back to Kansas tomorrow with a stop by Salina and our two grandboys.

Yesterday it was a perfect day here with temperatures in the high 70s. Today it is quite cool and a bit breezy. Don't think we will be taking any hikes in the mountains.

Spring cleaning

I saw this scene on my route today. As I continued down the road, stories came to mind about the boots and why they were so carefully placed by the trash container.

Often owners will place items they feel might have value to someone by the trash container. If someone happens by that can use the castoff our planet will benefit. However, these boots did not fit that possibility.

Perhaps the owner of the boots knew they had to go but felt remorse about putting his comfortable, broke in boots in the smelly trash container. Maybe kind of like betraying old friends. This was the next best thing.

The last and the most likely possibility, is that the wife felt the boots had to go and waiting until everyone left and just as she pulled out of the driveway to leave for work, reached out the window and finally got rid of those stinky ole boots. She already knows she will be in trouble, but someone had to do it. RIP
